Motus Technical Manager- Parow

To plan, manage and monitor the implementation of all fitments, servicing and parts activities and processes in order to continuously enhance service delivery and maximise profits through the Fitment Centre.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Operations

Managing the workshop and increase productivity.
Effective stock control of the depot in conjunction with the Depot Manager
Check and manage the quality of all work completed before it leaves the depot
Technical assistance and feedback to customers
Submission of warranty claims and resolving customer complaints
Relationship building with all productive staff and monitoring training requirements
Meeting Sales targets and budget as set by Head Office from time to time in conjunction with the Depot manager
Daily planning of the workload and distribution of job cards – pro-actively checking for parts availability for next day jobs
“Hands-on” working knowledge of productive staff’s roles and job functions is a must
Directly responsible for the safe-keeping and control of stock at the depot
Responsible for always keeping the daily stock movements up to date on the in-house system and completing stock takes in an accurate and timeous manner.
Managing onsite fitment teams.

Administration

Responsible for Counter and Telephonic sales and the related invoices/feedback.

Ensure all clerical functions within the Fitment Centre are carried out in accordance with policies (warranty claims, customer follow-up, workshop loading, estimating, invoicing, daily operating controls).

Administer warranty policy in the best interests of Fitment Centre, manufacturer and customer.
Ensure adequate maintenance of the Fitment Centre.
Ensure adequate and scheduled maintenance of tools, equipment and other materials in the Fitment Centre.

People

 Create an engaging, enabling and productive work climate aligned to the employee value proposition.
Implement and manage workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, reward and recognition and employee relations to ensure an optimal working environment.
Monitor and positively influence and manage change, and offer operational support where required.

Ensure staff have adequate technical knowledge and skills.
Manage teams within the context of defined processes, set required performance parameters and act as coach and mentor where required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric/Grade 12 or Equivalent
  • Management experience of a workshop or fitment center with 10+ staff – minimum of 3 years.
  • Customer sales and technical advisory experience of at least 3 years in a workshop environment
  • Driver’s license with a clean record is a must
  • Good computer skills and at least 5 years working experience on a recognized in-house system (Pastel/ Automate/Quick books
